Minotaur wins 6 Gold Circle Awards
The 2009 edition of the Minotaur received six Gold Circle Awards from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association. These awards are given to the top books in the country for specific categories. This is the first time Bloomingdale has received one. Only three other yearbooks in Florida earned a Gold Circle award.

- Certificate of Merit, Feature Writing: Student Life, Heather Franks, Christina Haase & Ashly Shay
- Certificate of Merit, People spread with mug shots one spread color, Maria Machina & Natalie Morgan
- Certificate of Merit, Opening and closing spread design color, Resa Horta & Grace Semchuck
- Certificate of Merit, Design essentials: title page, Resa Horta & Grace Semchuck
