Yearbook editors attend cover workshop
Yearbook editors in chief attended the Herff Jones yearbook cover workshop on Wednesday September 23. They were there to finalize their cover and set their budget for the year.
“I’m most excited about getting our cover completely done,” Chantelle Cloutier said.
The editors met with a professional graphic design artist from Charlotte. He offered them feedback on the cover they had already designed.
“Most schools came in with just their theme and no idea of what they wanted,” yearbook adviser Ms. Heather Hanks said. “Chantelle and Sarah already had a full cover design ready to go. The graphic artist was very impressed, and the publishing representative thought it was amazing. I’m really proud of what they’ve accomplished so far this year.”
Though the staff was excited about the cover, they wouldnt say any details as it traditionally remains a secret revealed to the seniors the end of the year.
TB* two staff
Tampa bay times is a very popular newspaper for the bay area. But tbt is putting a twist on things. There’s a new news paper and its called tb* two. Its a paper made exactly for high school students. this news paper has the latest things happening from performances coming to town to students thoughts about current events happening in the world. the staff is made up of many high school student and for anyone this would be a great oppertunity and luckily we have four Bloomingdale students who are on the staff such as seniors Chantelle Clautier, Natalie Neville, junior Erica Fichet, and sophmore Ashly Shay.
When asked how it feels to be on the tb*-two staff senior Natalie Neville replied “Its cool to be able to say that I’m on something bigger then my school, or community” she shares that the paper goes to every school in the Hillsborough, and Penillis county area.
so don’t forget to pick up tb* two every Thursday.
Yearbook develops new website
After a summer staff meeting at Panera Bread, the yearbook staff has updated their site to include social media.
The website, www.bloomingdaleyearbook.com, now integrates the yearbook Twitter and Facebook accounts for a more interactive user experience. It also now features news stories by staffers as the focus of the site. Updates about portrait days can now be found under pages at both the top right and lower left corners of the site.
With last year’s switch to chronological coverage, the staffers’ work will be published on the main page as the premier site for student-produced journalism on the page. Articles will be written by students in Ms. Heather Hanks’s 6th period Journalism I class, with a taste of features by advanced journalism students on yearbook staff.
Comments and feedback are welcomed on all articles.
