Girl Soccer Tryouts

Posted by Paul Snyder On October - 16 - 2009

A few weeks before the first whistle is blown, tryouts for the girls soccer team took place out on their practice field in front of the softball and baseball fields.  There were a lot of new faces out on the field, and of course  the same returners that led the team to the title of district champions last year.

Hopeful for another winning season, senior Kara Buono said, “It’s been a great experience to play on the team these last three years and I hope this year we will be able to live up to expectations and make it far.”

The team only lost a few starters from last year with the graduating class of 2009, and the returning players are sure that they will be even better this upcoming season.

Senior Meghan Lanteigne told us, “This is going to be my fourth and final year on the team and I want to make it the most memorable.”

Girls Soccer Conditioning

Posted by Jeff Jolly On October - 9 - 2009

The past week girls soccer conditioning has been going on. Conditioning for any sport is typically brutal so no one expects anything less for the Bloomingdale Bulls girls soccer team. They run, they sprint, they kick, and run some more, all in the killer Florida heat.

“Girls soccer conditioning is both treacherous and sweaty. I have a feeling their ball handling skills will be through the roof this year. Those girls a re working hard!” exclaimed junior Jordan Fowler.

“I think girls soccer conditioning will be hard this year. They’re gonna have to work extra hard to be able to handle that many balls at once on the playing field,” said senior Ryan Woodard.

It seems unanimous, everyone expects good things from the team, and thinks childish jokes are funny. How ever hard they work will definitely so when their season kicks off this year.
